Who We Are
MJ Companies, LLC opened its doors in 2022, and has been providing reliable and quality service in Minnesota since. We specialize and lead the northland in Hydro Excavation, which provides a more efficient and safer way of digging and removing soil around underground utility lines.
After losing colleagues to utility hits, we were determined to bring safer excavation to the Northland. We want to be the new gold standard.

DAYLIGHTING
The process of exposing underground utility lines to daylight. These can range from electrical, oil, and gas lines. The truck uses high pressure water and air to break up the soil. This debris, commonly known as a "slurry," is then stored in the large on-board tank in the rear of the truck, exposing precise access to these utilities. This allows for minimal excavation that is significantly less damaging to the environment and efficient than traditional mean, all while protecting employees from potentially fatal utility hits.
TRENCHING
Much like daylighting, trenching is the process that involves excavating narrow trenches to install pipes, cables or other in-ground utilities. We are able to excavate trenches as narrow as 3” wide, otherwise known as slot trenching. Previous slot trenching methods can be dangerous and are time consuming. These mechanical and manual ways of digging are hard on the laborers. It takes a lot of time get an excavation job done this way and poses safety risks. Also, conventional slot trenching methods are not able to dig a narrow enough trench. Backfilling is then needed. This increases the costs of labor and material. Our hydro excavation services offer a way to get the job done without these issues.
DEBRIS REMOVAL
Debris removal is the process of hauling away landscaping and construction debris. With some projects, where burning and grinding debris is not an option, we are here to help. The time-consuming and daunting task of removing unwanted materials, scattered remains of structures, rubble, wreckage, ruins, refuse or natural geological fragments is well within our wide range of capabilities.
